![]() ![]() There have been many artists who have played their first "proper festival" here, who now grace the main stages of some of the greatest festivals in the world. ![]() Everyone on stage brings a unique talent, whether they're well-known names or up-and-coming stars, or are playing to gain exposure with a new audience, they will all have shown an element of "magic" in their performances to bring something special to the festival experience. You will not find any "fill-in" artists at GTSF. We believe what sets us apart from many of the smaller UK festivals are two things - the first is the music. Over 40 artists performing over 4 days on 4 main stages, on-site camping, kids activities, street theatre, comedy, spoken word and lots more. We are at a new site in beautiful parkland with lakes and great views, near the historic and beautiful market town of Southwell (approximately 13 miles from Nottingham and 8 miles from the A1 and Newark). After a few years in corporate America, she began to explore the world of wine and landed a cellar hand position for the 2014 vintage at Hardy’s Tintara Winery.The Gate to Southwell Festival is now established as a leading international roots and acoustic music event rivalling other well-established festivals and receiving many accolades. ![]() On the other side of the world, Colleen grew up in Rochester, New York, before getting a degree in marketing. After high school, Seb worked several vintages in Australia and across Europe, and got a degree in Viticulture and Oenology in Adelaide, with an exchange at UC Davis. ![]() Seb grew up in his dad’s vineyards, particularly at K1, the first vineyard in the Kuitpo subregion of the Adelaide Hills. He soon planted the Hardy family’s first grapes and jumpstarted 160+ years of family winemaking. In 1850, at the age of 20, Thomas immigrated to the new British colony, Australia. Though Living Roots was founded in 2016, our legacy began six generations back with Thomas Hardy, Seb’s great-great-great grandfather. Living Roots is an urban winery in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York and a not-so-urban winery in the Adelaide Hills region of South Australia. ![]()
